Celebrating - Resourcing - Growing
Welcome to our website. We're the parish church for Woodseats and we are a group of people who think the message of Jesus is great news for today.
You're welcome to join us on a Sunday or at our events and groups throughout the week.
This home page is regularly updated, so read on to find out what is happening. Do like our Facebook Page or sign up to our mailing list to receive updates about what is happening.
We're currently recruiting for a new Children and Families Worker in Partnership with the Centenary Project to help us share God's love with those both within our church family and in the surrounding community. To find out more, click here.
Our Regular Sunday Services are:
9am Holy Communion
Our traditional service includes Holy Communion each week except on the second Sunday. It has robed clergy, hymns on the organ and a small choir.
11am Worship Service
Our 11am service is a more informal time where we pray, listen to the Bible and hear a talk, and praise God led by our band. Groups for children and young people run on most Sundays.
On the second Sunday of most months our PitchUp@11 service takes place. It’s for anyone and everyone, all stages and ages, however you’re feeling - with time to pause, chat, create, get busy, and listen out for God.
Fifth Sundays
When there is a fifth Sunday in the month, we hold a joint service with the congregation of St Paul's Church in Norton Lees, held either at St Chad's or St Paul's.
Live-Streaming
Our 11am service - apart from PitchUp@11 - is live-streamed on our Facebook page (you can also see it at the bottom of this page). We hope that seeing it on your screen will encourage you to join us in person!
Morning Prayer: Mondays at 9am and Thursdays at 7am
Join us for Morning Prayer in the church building at 9am on Mondays and 7am on Thursdays for about half an hour. The two days have slightly different focusses but generally include a mixture of prepared and unprepared prayers, and a conversation surrounding the Bible passages set for the day. If you would like to take part in a service of morning prayer but are unable to come to St Chad's, you can find words and a recording through the national Church of England website here.
