Christmas 2023

This Christmas at St Chad's we have lots of special events lined up along with our regular services as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

We also have an advent trail for you to follow round the streets of Woodseats and Beauchief and collect a few gifts as you go. Find out more by clicking here.

This Christmas is the first with our new minister Rev Jon Hidden and we’d also love to see you – whether you’re a regular visitor, haven’t been for a while or have never stepped inside the church building.

Alternative Carol Service at 6.30pm

Christmas songs and carols with activities for all the family.

Saturday December 16

Christmas Quiz at 6.30pm

Family-friendly Christmas fun. £5 a team with a maximum of eight people. Tea, coffee and nibbles provided. Bring your own other drinks.

Sunday December 17

Children's Nativity at 11am

Our children and young people’s nativity during the 11am service.

Traditional Carol Service at 6pm

A service of music and readings retelling the Christmas story, led by Rev Jon Hidden. The service will be followed by refreshments.

Sunday December 24

Morning Worship at 11am

Our weekly 11am service. There is no 9am service on Christmas Eve.

Christingle Service at 4pm

A traditional Christingle service, especially for children and families.

Midnight Communion - at St Paul's Church, Norton Lees

A traditional midnight service at St Paul's Church, Norton Lees at 11.30pm.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day Celebration at 10am 

Celebrate Christmas Day with us at 10am in a service for all ages led by Rev Jon Hidden including Holy Communion.
