Safeguarding Policies

As a church committed to the care of all God's people, young, old and vulnerable, we take safeguarding very seriously.

All of our volunteers working with children, young people or vulnerable adults have undergone DBS checks and have received appropriate safeguarding training as provided by the Diocese of Sheffield.

We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Sheffield’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, Toria Karney (07790 781649), or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Sian Checkley (sian.checkley@sheffield.anglican.org; 07741 013775). If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
