St Chad's Woodseats

Living a Life of Faith, Energised by Love

Stars of Hopestar

From December 1 to January 3, look out for Stars of Hope around the Woodseats area. You will undoubtedly bump into some, but you can also look on the interactive map below for some of the locations taking part, including streets, houses, businesses and schools.

In the Bible we read about the wise men who discovered a star and travelled many miles to give respect and honour to Jesus. We imagine their journey would have been filled with joy and expectation as they travelled together towards a hope that had been promised

starJesus said: "I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life."

Darkness can feel disorienting, lonely and give us a feeling of sadness and even panic. As Christians, we believe that when we have a connection with Jesus, we are no longer alone. He gives us a light in the darkness and a feeling of rootedness as we have faith in him.

As we look at the stars this year, we can have feelings just as the wise men did of inner joy and expectation of the hope we remember each Christmas.

This advent each one of us can have hope through a connection with Jesus. We share in hope that allows us to echo the angel's words spoken in the Christmas story: "Do not be afraid!"

As you look around Woodseats this Christmastime, may the stars you see be a reminder of Jesus' light and bring you hope. And if you want to share that hope with others, why not display a few stars of your own?
