St Chad's Woodseats

Living a Life of Faith, Energised by Love

Welcome to our website

We're the parish church for Woodseats and we are a group of people who think the message of Jesus is great news for today. In this time of Covid restrictions many services and activities that would usually take place such as Third Age meetings, toddler groups etc. are being suspended until the end of the pandemic.  God, however, is unrestricted and even when we can't meet together we can still pray for, and serve, our local community.

This home page is regularly updated, so read on to find out what is happening. Do like our Facebook Page, follow us on Twitter, or sign up to our mailing list to receive updates about what is happening.

Sunday Services in the Building: Summer 2021

From Sunday 25th July 2021 we will restart our 11am service after a break of about 18 months. In both of the 9am and 11am services there will be areas of the church where you can choose to sing (masked or unmasked) and areas where you can be masked and choose not to sing.

9am Holy Communion

Our weekly Communion is a traditional service, with robed clergy, hymns on the organ and a small choir.

11am Worship Service

We will gather for all-age worship where we pray, look at the Bible and have band-led singing.

Online Services

St Chad's Woodseats is part of a local Mission Partnership of churches. Together we have a weekly online service, available from 10am on Sundays. See our Facebook Page (you do not need to have a Facebook account), or go to our Mission Partnership YouTube Page for the links to all the services. Below is the service for Sunday 25th July 2021.

Morning Prayer: Mondays-Thursdays

Join us for Morning Prayer in the church building at 9am for about half an hour. There are a mixture of prepared and unprepared prayers, and a conversation surrounding the Bible passages set for the day. If you would like to take part in a service of morning prayer but are unable to come to St Chads, you can find the words and a recording through the national Church of England website here.

Families at Home

Faith at Home

For younger members of our church family, we have produced some activities. Find out more by going to our  Lockdown Faith at Home page. There are various fun activities to help you explore stories from the Bible together, including one based around Christmas.

“God is love.  Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.  This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgement: in this world we are like Jesus.  There is no fear in love.  But perfect love drives out fear.” 1 John 4
